Introduction
In order to achieve the goal of learning is influenced by several factors. Such factors include the type of approach used in the study. The approach tends to put students as recipients of information (passive) and the teacher as a conduit of information to minimize the activity of learners in learning. Approach to learning methods that are used most schools still tend to the lecture method and administration tasks. Teaching methods are less able to improve the learning achievements of students especially in mathematics.
That's why learning model of problem solving is very good to do in an effort to improve the quality of student learning outcomes. Because in this learning model emphasizes the ability of learners in dealing with settlement issues and determine the problem. Learners in the pacemakers for the creative, active and responsive to issues related to mathematics. While teachers motivate, provide direction, and a facilitator.

Development of problem-solving skills among students is very important in this era of global competition, because of the complexity of the problems in all aspects of modern life is increasing. Problem-solving ability and belonging to a high level of competence can be viewed as a continuation of basic competence (basic skills). Basic skills in learning mathematics is usually established through activities that are convergent. This activity tends to be a math exercises that are algorithmic, mechanistic and routine. Mathematical problem-solving ability is an open-ended activity that is divergent thinking and investigation activities require math problems from various perspectives. In this case the solution of mathematical problems are not solely aimed to find a correct answer, but aimed at how to construct all possible solutions are reasonable.
In fact, the learning of mathematics in Indonesia, even in many countries is still dominated by the activity of the exercises for the attainment of skills purely mathematical basics. This resulted in low achievement and student interest in learning math. In this era of free competition, learning mathematics, which is based on achieving basic skills are inadequate. Thus the learning of mathematics, now and in the future can not rest only on achieving basic skills, but instead should be designed to achieve a high level of mathematical competence. Implementation of learning must be able to provide the widest possible space for learners in building knowledge, and experience ranging from basic skills to higher levels. Taught problem-solving is more important to students than simply providing routine matters which only makes the link between cognitive impairment with a definite resolution procedures. Purpose of solving math problems is not solely focused on finding the correct answer, but how to construct all the possible answers are reasonable, and all possible procedures and arguments, why the answer makes sense. Very important problem-solving capabilities possessed by students early because students can relate the material to be learned about the benefits of mathematics in their daily lives.
Learners are directed to achieve creative problem solving skills through learning activities are varied, contextual and open. Contextual issues that are presented will give students the chance to thoroughly review the mathematical topics that are packaged in attractive, while an open mathematical problem solving will give students the opportunity to investigate a mathematical problem in depth, so it can construct all possible solutions critically, creatively , divergent, and productive.

Conclusion
